Armenian soprano Juliana Grigoryan won First Prize and the Audience Award at the renowned Operalia singing competition earlier this year. She began her career in her native Armenia, where she sang, among others, in Bach's Magnificat, Beethoven's Ninth Symphony and the role of Zemphira in Rachmaninov's opera Aleko. In the 2022-23 season, she will make several important house and role debuts, including the title role in Rusalka at Teatro alla Scala and Mimì in La bohème at the Ravenna Festival. Grigoryan makes her DNO debut in 2022 with Turandot.
