Artur Shesterikov

Principal

Straight after a touring performance of Swan Lake in March 2012, artistic director Ted Brandsen promoted Artur Shesterikov to principal. Artur trained in his hometown at the Ballet Academy of the Perm Opera and Ballet Theatre, one of the top three ballet academies in Russia. He made the switch from the Tchaikovsky Perm Ballet to the Dutch National Ballet in 2007. Artur started out in the corps de ballet, but was rapidly promoted to coryphée and to soloist in 2010. In 2012 he became a principal. At the International Ballet Competition Arabesk in 2004, he was announced as ‘most talented dancer’. September 2016 Artur received the Alexandra Radius award, named after the famous Dutch former prima ballerina.
