How to reach the scenery atelier

The Scenery Atelier is an important department of Dutch National Opera & Ballet. It is where all the sets and the larger props are made.

The Dutch National Opera & Ballet’s Scenery Atelier is located in the Zuidoost district of Amsterdam, at Kollenbergweg 1.

You can reach the Scenery Atelier by car or by public transport:

From the A2 Amsterdam-Utrecht

Take exit 1, Ouderkerk a/d Amstel/Amsterdam-Zuidoost
Turn left in the direction of A'dam-Zuidoost
Keep right, in the direction of Duivendrecht/S111
Turn right at the traffic lights, in the direction of S111
At the third set of traffic lights, turn right onto Hoogoorddreef
Continue along the road and you will see the red building of the Scenery Atelier on your left
Drive around the building to the entrance on Kollenbergweg

From the A1 coming from the direction of Hilversum

Follow the signs to A9/Schiphol
Continue along the A9, take exit 3, Amsterdam-Zuidoost
Turn right in the direction of Arenapoort
Continue along the road for approx. 1 km
Turn left onto Hoogoorddreef (by the building 'de Zilvermijn')
Continue along the road and you will see the red building of the Scenery Atelier on your left
Drive around the building to the entrance on Kollenbergweg

By public transport

You can reach Amsterdam Bijlmer ArenA Station by train or metro. The Scenery Atelier is a 15-minute walk from the station.

The following Connexxion buses stop at the Holterbergweg bus stop:
Line 171 (Aalsmeer - Amsterdam Bijlmer ArenA)
Line 300 & 356 (Haarlem - Amsterdam Bijlmer ArenA)
The Scenery Atelier is a 10-minute walk from the bus stop:
Walk back to the traffic lights and cross Holterbergweg
Walk along Hoogoorddreef (approx. 75 metres) until you see the red building of the Scenery Atelier on your left
At the letterbox, take the path to the entrance
